The economy may expand 6.3 percent in 2011, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said on Tuesday.
“Our economic fundamentals will give us a strong foundation for future economic performance. We had first-quarter growth of 5.7 percent,” Sri Mulyani said, adding that exports are expected to grow 10.8 percent next year along with investment rising 10.9 percent. The outgoing minister said the president was aiming for unemployment to fall from 7.3 percent this year to 7 percent in 2011.
