A New Philosophy In Health & Beauty in Jakarta

The fountain of eternal youth may not exist, but that doesn’t stop people from trying all sorts of new things to maintain a youthful glow.
“It’s everyone’s dream to look young and attractive forever,” said Dr. Muliana Ling of Nano Philosophy, a Singapore-based aesthetic wellness clinic with branches in Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia. “And many are willing to risk their health to achieve it.”
The clinic, which recently celebrated its two-year anniversary in Jakarta, promotes herbal-based treatments to maintain well-being and appearance.
“I’m not the kind of person who uses any kind of treatment for my body,” said actor Chicco Jerikho Jarumilind, a client at the clinic.
As an actor, Chicco says he often goes on film shoots for several consecutive days and nights.
“I usually don’t sleep during filming and it shows on my face,” he said.
When the 25-year-old went to the clinic, a doctor tested his blood, a regular procedure at Nano Philosophy.
“They said my blood was sticky and contained too much protein,” he said. “And that it was caused by lack of sleep and unhealthy diet.”
“Chicco’s blood had too many fibrins,” Muliana said, “which indicated he had been very tired and was not eating well.”
Fibrins are fibrous, non-globular proteins involved in blood clotting. Excess fibrins weaken the body’s immune system, inhibit new cell growth and cause premature ageing.
For his condition, Chicco underwent Nano Philosphy’s cocktail therapy, during which an herbal-based concoction of vitamins and minerals was infused into his veins. “I immediately felt fresh and healthy,” he said, adding that his stress and fatigue seemed to vanish.
“It’s natural, safe for the body and doesn’t have any side effects,” Muliana added.
However, the treatment is quite expensive. A 25-minute infusion starts at Rp 2 million ($215), with the price depending on the patient’s physical condition.
Chicco said the clinic has also helped him maintain a healthy weight.
“I loved going to the gym and taking weight loss supplements,” the actor said. “But the doctors at Nano Philosophy said the supplements actually contain harmful ingredients for the body.”
Now, Chicco takes Nano Philosophy’s homeopathic supplements instead. Homeopathy is a form of alternative medicine that claims to assist the body’s natural tendency to heal itself.
Indonesian singer Marini said she also maintains her excellent physical condition by visiting the clinic.
“I’m so lucky to have come across Nano Philosophy last year,” she said. “The clinic has helped me look and feel good since then.”
The 65-year-old had previously struggled with constipation that led to severe bloating, lethargy and dull facial skin.
“The doctor treated me with Nano cocktails and organic juices,” she said. “After three treatments, I can move my bowels regularly. I’ve never felt so good in my life. My friends also said my skin looks smoother and more supple.”
At Nano Philosophy’s recent anniversary party in Jakarta, the clinic introduced its latest treatment, Organic Superlift.
“The treatment repairs and regenerates damaged cells in our bodies,” Muliana said. “It also eliminates free radicals from the body and heals many chronic illnesses, such as cancer.”
The treatment, which gives patients a series of micronutrient injections, also tones the face and body, resulting in a more youthful appearance. Muliana said the results will last for about two years.
Again, the benefits come at a hefty price: A series of injections costs Rp 88 million.
For those looking for a cheaper solution, Muliana shared some practical tips for well-being.
“Stay away from meat,” she said. “When we eat meat, our stomach produces more acid to digest it. In turn, it causes our blood to be acidic.
“Substitute your food with organic foods,” she added. “Non-organic foods contain preservatives, coloring agents and traces of pesticides and insecticides that can make you ill.”
