An Australian bobsledder was hospitalized on Wednesday following a crash on the first night of training for the Olympic two-man competition.

Duncan Harvey was conscious and not believed to have sustained serious injuries, the Australian team said. A media official at the sliding facility said Harvey was taken for evaluation as a precaution.

Harvey and pilot Chris Spring were among at least seven sleds to crash during Wednesday’s training session. The crash occurred on the same track where Georgian luger Nodar Kumaritashvili died on Friday when he lost control of his sled and slammed into a steel pole at nearly 145 kph. AP
