The Bakrie group’s plantation company, PT Bakrie Sumatera Plantations, said its audited first-half net profit dropped 58.6 percent to Rp 135.19 billion ($14.4 million).

The company cited lower sales and a lower contribution from subsidiary PT Bakrie Sentosa Persada after Bakrie Sumatera’s stake in the unit was diluted in November.

The company said sales during the period declined 34.2 percent to Rp 1.04 trillion, while its operating profit fell 42.1 percent to Rp 241.16 billion.
