Breaking: Fugitive Neneng, Nazaruddin’s Wife, Surrenders
Fugitive corruption suspect Neneng Sri Wahyuni, the wife of graft convict Muhammad Nazaruddin, on Wednesday decided to turn herself in.
“She is now at Pejaten [in South Jakarta],” Rufinus Hutauruk, Neneng’s lawyer said, as quoted by Metro TV. “She has just returned from Kuala Lumpur.”
Rufinus declined to answer how long Neneng had been hiding out in Kuala Lumpur.
“She returned on her own initiative,” he added.
It was not clear when she would go to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) office, or if she would be picked up by KPK officials.
Neneng was a board member of Alfindo Nuratama, a privately-owned company implicated in a procurement scandal involving solar equipment. She has been accused of brokering a contract deal for Alfindo that caused Rp 3.8 billion ($403,000) in losses to the state.
