Can We Count You In?
No matter what your skill set, there are always plenty of ways for you to get involved and make a difference while meeting new friends. Count Me In is always in contact with groups looking for new recruits. Just check out the opportunities listed below:
Three Little Angels
You don’t need to be a doctor to dedicate some time to kids in hospitals and give them a reason to smile. Three Little Angels is looking for volunteers who can visit children in hospitals around Jakarta and spend some fun time with them, such as by reading stories or playing with puzzles. Volunteers will be also be responsible for checking on the patients’ health. For further information, call Dian at 0811 807 787.
Rumah Baca Fwe
Volunteers looking to teach their greatest passions to children and teenagers have the chance to do so at Rumah Baca Fwe. Everyone is welcome to give lessons on their hobbies and interests, whether it is cooking, art or English. Alternatively, people can lend a hand in taking care of the little library there. On Fridays, volunteers are needed to teach kids aged 2 to 6 from 7:30 a.m. to 9:20 a.m. On Saturdays and Sundays, there are also classes for children aged 7 to 17. For further information, call Nila at 0816 141 3207.
The Lontar Foundation is looking for volunteers to help with book cataloging and labeling. Lontar will provide training and assistance for new volunteers. The Lontar Library is open every day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Hours are flexible and you can set your own schedule — there’s no need to come by every day. For more info, e-mail email@example.com or call 021 574 6880.
Yayasan Pembangunan Masyarakat Sejahtera
This orphanage located in Tambun, Bekasi, is looking for volunteers who can teach English or math for a few hours every week to kids aged 6 to 18. Ideally, volunteers would commit to regular visits. During the day, classes are held between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Volunteers can choose the most suitable time and day for them. For more information, call Pak Nugroho at 0815 431 8486.
