Spanish national football team midfielder Cesc Fabregas on Thursday shared his recipe for success with a crowd of young Indonesian fans in Jakarta.
Speaking to child fans at an event sponsored by biscuit maker Biskuat, Fabregas said the key to his success — over the weekend he helped Spain win the European championship — was staying fit and healthy.
“There are a lot of things I must do. You cannot go out at night, [instead] sleep very early and for nine hours; maintain a healthy diet; and train very hard. You have to be professional in every way possible,” the 25-year-old footballer said.
Fabregas, who now plays for Barcelona FC, said support from loved ones was also important, adding that his father played a big role in his path to success.
“I believe your potential as young players is high. When you grow up, you have to know what you want, what you need to achieve in life. Follow up your dreams,” he said.
Fabregas also took time to play with some of the children after the meet and greet event, and auctioned off a pair of his shoes for Rp 21 million ($2,250) to Indonesian celebrity Darius Sinathrya.
