Internet giant Google launched its Indonesian unit on Friday with a ceremony opening Google Indonesia’s office in Cyber 2 Tower in Kuningan, South Jakarta.

The ceremony also introduced the country head of Google Indonesia, Rudy Ramawy.

“Our presence in Indonesia affirms Google’s commitment to bringing ourselves closer to the users, work partners and Indonesian stakeholders,” Rudy told a press conference held in conjunction with the ceremony.

The ceremony was also attended by Google Southeast Asia managing director Julian Persaud, who expressed his hope that Google Indonesia could contribute to the development of Indonesian businesses, including small and medium-scale ones.
