Indonesia Sees 2012 Processed Cocoa Bean Exports at 380,000 Tons
Indonesia estimates that exports of processed cocoa beans this year will total 380,000 tons, up from 249,188 tons in 2011, Sindra Wijaya, executive director of the Indonesian Cocoa Industry Association (AIKI) said on Wednesday.
The association sees installed industry capacity at 680,000 tons in 2012, up from 580,000 tons last year, Wijaya told Reuters.
“Increasing investment in the cocoa industry will boost Indonesian cocoa processing capacity in the coming years,” Wijaya said.
Grinders in the main Asian producers, Indonesia and Malaysia, account for about 12 percent of global grindings.
