Jakarta Police on the Hunt for Creator of Hitman Web Site

Jakarta Police are searching for the developer of a locally-run Web site advertising the services of hitmen for hire.

The Web site, hitmanindonesia.wordpress.com, offered the services of a local hitman, writing, “Murder Deals. We provide skilled and trusted professionals who will
serve on your orders. We also have supports from military and police personnel.”

The site attracted the attention of police, who have launched an investigation, calling the Web site a matter that demands serious attention.

“The cyber team is tracking down how far the network has expanded, what
the aims and goals of the Web site are, when it started and how serious it
is,” Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Rikwanto said on Thursday. “This is uncommon in Indonesia. Not only the Jakarta Police,
but also the National Police are also paying special attention to the
case.”

Rikwanto believed that the mention of military and police hitmen was probably just a way to draw interest to the site.

The Web site is no longer available.

Visitors are instead redirected to an error message reading, “This blog has been archived or suspended for a violation of our Terms of Service. For questions or concerns, contact WordPress.com Support.”
