Graft suspect Neneng Sri Wahyuni has been hospitalized in Kramat Jati police hospital since Friday for severe diarrhea, according to a statement from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
On Friday night, a doctor from Abdi Waluyo hospital came to the KPK facility where Neneng was detained and reportedly examined her for stomach cramps.
KPK spokesman Johan Budi said Neneng had to be hospitalized for further medical checks, but did not expect her to stay for long.
“She will probably be back to the detention center on Saturday,” Johan said.
Graft suspect Neneng is suspected of allegedly acting as the broker of a solar energy project contract worth Rp 8.9 billion ($940,000). The project involved Alfindo Nuratama, a company owned by her husband and graft convict Muhammad Nazaruddin.
Neneng’s illness adds to a long list of graft suspects who have taken ill while in custody, including Nazaruddin, Angelina Sondakh, who suffered from sinusitis and Nunun Nurbaeti, whose numerous ailments included memory loss and high blood pressure.
