Same-Sex Kiss Opens Actress Dinda’s Eyes.

Fans of Dinda Kanyadewi will see a new side of the actress in her latest film “Sanubari Jakarta” (“Jakarta’s Conscience”), due for release this week.

The 25-year-old adopts a different character from her usual soap opera roles by playing a lesbian in the film directed by Billy Christian.

“I have never portrayed this kind of sexual orientation before. This was a challenge for me,” Dinda said.

In the film, Dinda is involved in a same-sex kissing scene. But she is not too worried about what her fans might think.

“It’s up to the viewers to form their own opinions,” Dinda said. “I can only say that by watching this film, they may know there truly is a community like this. And we cannot simply close our eyes.”
