Tsunami Warning Lifted in Indonesia
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has lifted the tsunami warning for Indonesia.
BMKG earlier warned that a tsunami might be heading to Papua, North Maluku and North Sulawesi after the 8.9 magnitude earthquake in northeastern Japan.
BMKG geophysicist Fauzi told the Jakarta Globe a harmless 10-centimeter swell hit the coast of North Halmahera in North Maluku. No damages have been reported.
