Twin Terror
Two large earthquakes shook the East Azerbaijan province of Iran on Saturday, killing more than 300 people and injuring 3,000 in the country’s northwest.
The twin quakes — measuring 6.4 and 6.3 magnitude — struck within 11 minutes of each other, and Iran’s deputy Interior Minister Hassan Qadami said more than 110 villages had been affected, with the villages of Ahar and Varzaqan being the hardest hit.
