Bali Punk Band Superman Is Dead Looks to Rock Europe
Superman Is Dead looks to rock Europe. Bali punk rock band Superman Is Dead hopes to release a DVD of its performances at last year’s Warped Tour, the world’s biggest punk festival. SID performed in 11 cities in Canada and the United States during the monthlong tour, and shared the stage with such famous bands as NOFX, Bad Religion and Anti-Flag.
However, SID is facing a major hurdle. “We still haven’t gotten any sponsors yet,” Bobby Kool, the band’s lead vocalist, told online news portal kompas.com. “We also dream of performing in Europe, like Germany, Sweden and Holland. But we are only in the discussion stage with some sponsors, including European musicians.”
The band also includes Eka Rock on bass and Jerinx on drums. They shot to fame in 2003 when they won the award for Best New Artist at the MTV Indonesia Music Awards for the album “Kuta Rock City.”
