US actor Larry Hagman, best known for his role as JR Ewing, the unscrupulous heir to a Texas oil fortune in “Dallas,” plays a millionaire again in a new Spanish television series that debuted on Tuesday.

He plays Richard Slater, an American with “dubious morals” who hid the fact that his son was adopted from a Spanish family in the afternoon soap opera “We Are Accomplices,” television station Antena 3 said on its Web site.

Prince Harry turned 25 on Tuesday, becoming an even more eligible bachelor as he gained access to part of his inheritance from his mother, Princess Diana.

The quarter-century mark denoted a coming of age for the flame-haired prince, who is third in line of succession to the British throne and possesses both his mother’s sense of adventure and her common touch.

Spanish tenor Placido Domingo thrilled several hundred Venezuelans on Tuesday by showcasing his soaring voice during a free concert and heaping praise on the founder of the South American country’s famed youth orchestras.

Domingo said composer Jose Antonio Abreu “deserves a monument’’ for inspiring more than a million Venezuelan children to take up music since he founded “The System,’’ a network of more than 200 youth and children’s orchestras, over 30 years ago.

“Abreu has given the Venezuelan people one of the biggest gifts, and given the children the privilege to become musicians,’’ he said.

“The System’’ currently includes more than 250,000 students and has become a model for similar programs in countries such as Brazil and Britain. AP
