PT Bank Danamon Indonesia plans to hire about 13,000 staff this year to support expansion. The new employees will help Bank Danamon to achieve its 2010 loan-growth target of at least 20 percent, Bank Danamon vice president director Joseph Luhukay said on Wednesday. The bank currently has 41,000 full-time and 14,000 part-time employees.
The lender will focus on financing small and medium-sized businesses and firms that follow Islamic principles, Joseph said. Bank Danamon’s outlook for 2010 is “bullish” as the country’s economic recovery builds momentum, he said. Bank Danamon will “seriously” develop its Shariah business, with a loan-growth target of about 40 percent in this year, Joseph said. Bloomberg
