The conflict between Bambang Rachmadi and US fast-food giant McDonald’s has seemingly ended, with the businessman reportedly withdrawing a lawsuit for $105 million in damages against the chain. Neither party shed light on the move.
“[Rachmadi] has withdrawn his lawsuit,” Richard E Paul, Rachmadi’s spokesman, said on Monday. He declined to elaborate, only saying that Bambang may personally address the media, but no schedule has been set yet.
Ricardo Simanjuntak, legal counsel for McDonald’s, said the company had received court notification regarding the matter, but “had no idea” why the suit was dropped.
