Indonesia will name underwriters for a $1.1 billion sale of yen-denominated bonds to Japanese investors “near April,” the Finance Ministry said on Wednesday.
“We will enter the market approaching the end of April,” said Rahmat Waluyanto, director of the ministry’s debt department.
The offering of so-called samurai notes would be the second by the nation after it sold 35 billion yen ($389 million) of 2.73 percent 10-year debt in July.
Indonesia is selling the debt to cover its budget deficit, which the government forecasts will widen this year to Rp 129.8 trillion, or 2.1 percent of GDP.
