The Jakarta Composite Index fell 48.37, or 1.3 percent, to 3,743.77 at the midday break, tracking declines across the region amid concern by investors that Europe's plan in setting budget measures won't be enough to alleviate that region's sovereign-debt crisis.
Markets in Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Australia and Singapore were lower. Shares of Indonesia's biggest companies companies including Astra International and Bank Mandiri led declines in Jakarta.
