Bank CIMB Niaga, Indonesia’s fifth-largest lender by assets, announced the appointment of Dato’ Sri Nazir Razak as the bank’s new president commissioner, replacing Dato’ Mohd Shukri Hussin, who retired last year.

Sri Nazir is the chief executive officer of Malaysia’s CIMB Group Holdings, which holds a 99 percent stake in CIMB Niaga. He will retain his position at the group. His appointment was decided at the bank’s extraordinary general meeting of shareholders in Jakarta on Thursday.

Shareholders also appointed Glenn Muhammad Surya Yusuf as vice president commissioner. Both appointments need the central bank’s approval.
