The government will process requests from companies to obtain a tax allowance within 15 days and requests for tax holidays within 45 days, a senior official at the Finance Ministry said on Thursday.
“It will be very simple,” said Astera Primanto Bhakti, head of state revenue at the Finance Ministry’s Fiscal Policy Office, talking to reporters. Previously, no timeframe was set.
In December, Indonesia expanded the tax allowance facility to 129 business sectors, from 101 previously. The tax holiday can be granted to local or foreign companies that invest more than Rp 1 trilion ($112 million) in certain sectors.
