354194Is it my imagination, or are these high profile suicides becoming a very worrying trend across Indonesia? Jumping from Malls, multi-story car parks, bridges and fly-overs. Why is this happening? Is it just that the media is picking up on it more now, or is suicide on the increase?

A woman was killed after she fell from the Cawang flyover in East Jakarta on Friday morning in what police believe was a suicide. It was the second such incident within three weeks, after a 19-year-old woman survived a fall from another East Jakarta flyover in early January.
According to the Jakarta Police Traffic Management Center (TMC) website, the woman's body was found near a traffic light above the Cawang underpass at 5.20 a.m. She was wearing a black, red and white striped top and a brown pants and was an estimated 20 to 25 years old. She was not carrying any identification. Her body was taken to the National Police Hospital in Kramat Jati, East Jakarta.
The police asked anyone who is missing a relative or loved one with a similar description to report it to authorities.
On January 5, a 19-year-old girl attempted suicide by jumping off the Prumpung fly over in Jatinegara, East Jakarta, sustaining numerous broken bones.
