Hardly a word of this in the domestic language news and no pictures. This is the first time a winner of this contest has not been news in Indonesia. The knowledge that dark skin is beautiful internationally scares the sellers of skin cancer........I mean skin lighting cream. Would someone care to comment on why fair skin is so highly rated in Indonesia?

Quite right DrDez on the side note. I remarked at the time that she was almost certain to wear a bikini so it was a load of bollocks that she was talking at the time.

Curious isn't it, that even the Jakarta Globe can't be bothered to write anything substantial in the contest because Miss Indonesia came ?? (well, we don't know where).

On a side note - Our young lady went against her pledge to respect Islam and wore a bikini during a provocative dance (the pic was on JG as the winner was announced)... Probably just as well for her she didn't win so she doesn't have to come back to Indo and get harassed
