I can recall only previous few months ago riot incident caused nearby malls to suffered property damaged by their behavior.

I really don't understand what he meant by "Best Behavior" from these supporters. Does sitting or standing on moving public transport counts ? How about stopping on going vehicles in the middle of the road that could endangered other vehicles ? I can't imagine what would be best to describe as "brutal behavior".

Maybe eat rivals heart out.

The leader of the Persija Football Team fan club, Jakmania, has apologized to the police and the public for the riot at the Bung Karno Stadium in Senayan on Wednesday.

“We apologize to the police and the people of Jakarta who were disturbed by the riot,” Jakmania leader Larico Ranggamone told news portal Detik.com.

However, he added that those involved in the riot were not official Jakmania members.

The riot, which erupted after the Indonesian Super League match between Persija and Persiwa Football Team from Papua, left a police officer injured and a police post damaged.

Cempaka Putih Precinct Police Chief Comr. Djoko Dwi tried to intervene but ended up being beaten and lost some of his teeth in the process.

Larico said he coordinated with the police before the match to ensure peace and order among the thousands of spectators at the stadium.

“Throughout the game, all Jakmania members were on their best behaviors,” Larico said.

But he said the Persija fans involved in the riot were not official Jakmania members and that they had entered the stadium without a ticket.

“The real Jakmania understands that we have to be arm-in-arm with the police and we have to help the police maintain peace and security. The police are the institution that issues permits for the match and help regulate the traffic. Why do they have to be harmed?” Larico said.

All Jakmania members, he added, were grouped under coordinators whose duties included making sure everyone had tickets and did not bring alcohol or sharp weapons.

“We want to watch a football match. We don't need those things,” he said.

Eight people have been arrested in connection with the riot. The match itself was a 1-1 draw.
