After sitting atop of the Indonesian Super League table for the most of the season, Arema Malang suddenly looks a little uncomfortable.

The league leader fell 1-0 at Sriwijaya FC on Saturday, suffering its second successive away defeat after going down 1-0 at Persib Bandung on March 14.

It stayed in the lead, though, as second-place Persiba Balikpapan could only manage a 0-0 home draw against third-place Persipura Jayapura. Arema leads with 48 points and two matches in hand on Persiba (47). Persipura, having played one more game, is third with 46.

Keith Kayamba Gumbs scored the only goal for Sriwijaya, sprinting past Zulkifli and firing past goalkeeper Kurnia Meiga in the 63rd minute. Sriwijaya stayed in fifth place with 40 points, two behind Persib, which lost 3-0 at PSPS Pekanbaru on Sunday.

Persiba technical advister Daniel Roekito complained about the team’s lack of teamwork following the Persipura draw.

“Muhammad Albicho shouldn’t try to take all the glory for himself. It’s football, and he has to play as a part of the team,” Daniel told state-run news agency Antara.

Down in the relegation zone, Pelita Jaya moved off the foot of the table and moved past Persitara North Jakarta after beating Persisam Samarinda 2-0 at Segiri Stadium. Redouane Barkoui and Esteban Gabriel Vizcarra scored in 19th and 75th minutes to give the club its fourth win of the season.

Pelita Jaya climbed to 17th place in the 18-team lead with 20 points, one more than Persitara but having played one more match. Persisam stayed in 15th place with 26 points, three away from safety.

Persitara slipped to a 2-1 defeat at Bontang FC. Japanese striker Kenji Adachihara scored his 11th goal of the season, heading a five-way tie for fifth in the league goal-scoring charts, with Fadhil grabbing the other tally. Diego Mendieta pulled one goal back for Persitara.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Persijap Jepara beat Persik Kediri 3-2. Sunday saw host Persebaya Surabaya beat Persela Lamongan 2-0.
