While attending the World Cup is an experience of a lifetime for football fans across the globe, most Indonesians would have to part with their life savings to be a part of it.
Nonetheless, a local ticketing company is putting 1,000 ticket packages on sale from today for local fans who want to see the tournament firsthand in South Africa starting in June.
Ticket Station, the official distributor for World Cup tickets in Indonesia, said the cheapest package would cost $5,695, about Rp 52.2 million, while the most expensive deal was priced at $22,000.
Tickets are available in five different packages: the Single Match package, for tickets to matches in the group phase; Final Round package, for tickets to the knock-out stage; Venue Series, for tickets to matches at one stadium; Team Specific Series, for tickets to follow one national side; and the Big Five Series, for tickets to five matches in the group and final stages.
Package rates also vary depending on the seating required, from the pavilion area and business section to private suites. Packages include transportation, both international and domestic, accommodation and a range of travel services.
“We haven’t prepared the final match package for the suite-class seats yet, because it is very expensive,” Sudjadi Sudjianto, marketing director at Ticket Station, said on Tuesday. “The semifinals package with business-class seats is around $17,000. Watching from the suite will cost around $22,000.”
He said that because the number of tickets available was limited, sales would be on a first-come, first-served basis, adding that more tickets could be requested from FIFA if needed.
