Perblano

I have to agree - once again the pro Sharia and Islamic dominance posse throw in a kipper and once again the anti Sharia posse respond. Would you rather we didnt feed the troll?

As to the law - just another way to rape established business and ignore the real issues re foods - filthy preparation, food left out after cooking etc

I adore padang food but wil only eat it if I see it cooked for example

Not only should the government target the unhealtyh fast food places, but all those little unhygenienic warungs and street sellers. You often see chicken left out all day with flies buzzing around and raw meat waiting out to be cooked when the customer asks for sate.! These are the real health risks.

@peroblanco. If you look back at the early comments you will see that it was on topic until justapasserby

There lies your answer. They started the off topic nature of the postings.

Once again, the comment section of JG is filled with garbage that has nothing to do with the article itself.

It is not the food from fast food restaurants that Indonesians need to worry about, its the staple diet of (edit) that is fed to them by people like you that is a national health risk.

The Indonesian government says it has drafted a ministerial decree that will regulate the use of salt, sugar and fat in foods, particularly in the fast-food industry.

Tjandra Yoga Aditama, the director general for disease control and environmental health at the Health Ministry, said on Friday that despite Indonesia’s growing prosperity, the incidence of a number of diseases was increases, including diabetes, which was caused by obesity and a lack of physical activity.

He said that even though the draft ministerial decree had been completed, he still wanted “to discuss it with several experts.”

The ministry has already delayed passing the decree, which targets fast food restaurants and food producers, pushing the date back from 2011 to 2012.
