Tangerang. An Indonesian court has sentenced three Islamic militants to up to nine years in prison for their involvement in last year’s suicide bombing at a mosque.
The younger brother of the bomber received a nine-year sentence and two other men were sentenced to seven-year terms Wednesday at a court in Tangerang.
The three are among 13 militants arrested after the April 15 attack on a mosque within a police headquarters in the town of Cirebon. It wounded 28 people, mostly policemen. Ten defendants were sentenced last week to jail terms ranging from five to eight years.
The bombing was the first attack in a house of worship in Indonesia, the world’s most populous Muslim nation, where a string of terrorist attacks have occurred since 2002.
