Padt - the worst thing of all is when issues like this are made public those with a radical religious turn are quick to cease the moment, fully ignoring the fact that the majority of crime is committed by so called pious people

They have since apologised and shown remorse... This works for murderers and terrorists....

Lucky the scene was not recorded by a tourist... otherwise he would probably be in jail too now...

anon.everywhere - indeed!

A few months ago I showed a few 'purple' scenes from The Belles of St Trinians to a group of Indonesian (lady) teachers who sat stoney faced whilst poor Bessy was pounding the nitro glycerene in the laboratory as the gels were making Gin and across in the Geography room the 6th form were smoking, reading Hearthrob and dicussing with Miss Bounder ( momentarily semi-sober) the vinatge years for champagne between 1914 and 1926.

After a painful silence and exchanged glances of horror their Ibu leader spoke: "You will promise us that you will never show this movie to our students."

Tragically detached from reality aren't they?

This is a country in denial with a facade of prim morality - meanwhile not far out of sight and below the surface, all kinds of shenanigans and naughtiness - not to mention the odd fisticuffs - are never far from sight and just waiting to erupt - like many of the volcanoes.

As we see with the Belles of Bali.

Music and singing are good therapy to get out all those vented up feelings of outrage over girls flirting with other girls' boyfriends and dirtying one's Bikie Jacket and other such important things. Just in case the Ladies from Macho Girls Performance Bikie gang, otherwise known as Cewo Macho Performance (CMP) don't have a Gang Song, may I suhggest they get their vocal chords around this little ditty, (with acknowledgements to Sidny Gilliat)

"Maidens of CMP

Gird your armour on.

Grab the nearest weapon

Never mind which one!

The battle's to the strongest

Might is always right,

Trample on the weakest

Glory in their plight!

Tough Girls! Tough Girls!

Our battle cry.

Tough Girls! Tough Girls!

Will never die!

Stride towards your fortune,

Boldly on your way.

Never once forgetting

There's one born every day.

Let our motto be broadcaste

"Get your blow in first"

She who draws the sword last

Always comes off worst.

Denpasar. Police in Bali arrested seven members of a local teenage female motorcycle gang who were captured on a video that circulated on YouTube while beating up another member.

The victim, Kiki Ariani, 15, was beaten and kicked by members of the “Cewek Macho Performance,” or “Macho Girls Performance,” gang, Denpasar Police chief Comr. Arif Sugiarto said.

The assailants also ripped Kiki’s clothes and nearly smashed her head with a bottle.

One of the gang members recorded the ordeal and posted it on YouTube to “embarrass” Kiki, Arif said.

Five of the gang members have been charged under the Criminal Code and the 2002 Law on Child Protection for assaulting a teenage girl.

“Two more members are still being questioned to make sure of their exact role in the beating,” the police chief said.

The perpetrators were also minors aged between 16 and 17 years, Arif added.

Speaking at her Denpasar home, Kiki said the beating occurred in December in the Glogor Carik area of South Denpasar.

“They picked me up at my home and I was taken to an empty lot,” she said. “They accused me with different things, from flirting with Okta’s [a gang member] boyfriend to getting my club jacket dirty to stealing money from the group. But before I got to explain anything, they beat me and kicked me.”

Kiki said she joined the gang and stayed in it for a year because she had a lot in common with the other members. Like others in the group, she came from a broken home, had dropped out of school and loved motorcycles.

Kiki, who began living with her aunt after her father remarried, said she didn’t finish elementary school.

The five-and-half-minute video was posted on YouTube by user Mandabrother, and it has spread virally to other sites.

Kiki said that in the wake of the video and the uproar it caused, the girls who beat her up came back and apologized. But people around her urged her to report the case to police, which she subsequently did.

Titik Suhariyanti of the Bali Child Protection Agency said the case must continue to be investigated “so that it will create a deterrent effect for others.”
