Terror suspect Abu Rimba turned himself in to police in Aceh on Wednesday night. He carried with him an AK 47, five magazines and 238 bullets.
Police came to Abu Rimba's house in Simpang Panca, Aceh Besar at around midnight, according to Metro TV. The suspect and his family were waiting. He was taken to Aceh Besar Police Headquarters.
Abu said he had left an alleged terrorist camp in Bukit Jalin before police raids began there on February 22. He said he had hidden in remote villages before deciding to turn himself in.
Abu Rimba alias Munir alias Abu Uteun was one of seven fugitives sought by police for participating in the the Aceh camp. He allegedly served as a supplier and guide for the camp. Prior to joining the group, it is believed he was in Afghanistan for military training.
Police are still searching for six suspects: Abu Yusuf alias Mustaqim, Ubaid alias Adi, Ziad alias Deni Suranto, Tono alias Bayu Seno, Pandu alias Abu Asma and Usman alias Gito.
