Hey what’s going on here guys (DrDez etc) ? Seems everybody can’t argue my point about the “good” things of Valentine’s and then going silent ? Did I hit the nail right on the head (again) ?

On other topic I put forward a question (*) which you all seems unable to argue and then all of sudden DrDez urged everybody to stop debate on that topic.

(*)The question was: what do you want God to do so you can be convinced of the existence of God?

@bawel - you say you have been thinking hard. Given the results of this thought, you should ask for a refund, mate.

i don't know what sort of Islamic drivel sites you have been perusing, but you obviously know nothing about the places you mention. Sharia law in UK? Please give details on this revelation. Last I heard, Britain was part of the developed world, albeit having taken in many Muslim 'refugees'. They will have to behave themselves, and act according to the law of the country in which they now live, and not start instituting Muslim ghettos,no-go areas and brainwashing schools.

This sharia created big walls for their followers to grow and as a result their limitation to do just about everything turned into violence.

Such a pity for these young generation who might have bright future on them.

Methinks that Mr Faisal Ali is quite the "philosopher". REALLY - how do such cerebrally-challenged people (a) get their positions of "authority" in the first place and (b) why does anybody in their right mind bother to listen to them?

“We must prevent the Muslim sharia law in Aceh from poisoning the rest of Indonesian culture by contradicting normal human values. Therefore, everybody, parents in particular, should give midieval bigots the boot," I said.

Banda Aceh. Ulema in Aceh have warned Muslims, the younger generation in particular, that observing Valentine’s Day is not allowed in Islam and against Shariah law that is in force in all of Aceh province.

“It is haram for Muslims to observe Valentine’s Day because it does not accord with Islamic Shariah” Tgk Feisal, general secretary of the Aceh Ulema Association (HUDA), said on Monday.

In Islam, he said, love should not be expressed or shown on a certain day only but every day. “Therefore, Islam’s younger generation should not participate in the celebration of a foreign festivity,” he said.

Faisal Ali who is also chairman of the Aceh branch of Nahdlatul Ulama called on Muslim parents, especially those in Aceh, to instruct and supervise their children in the matter.

“We must prevent the Muslim younger generation in Aceh from being poisoned by a culture that contradicts our Muslim values. Therefore, everybody, parents in particular, should give our youth the proper guidance,” he said.

He also called on the government to uphold and implement Islamic Shariah in “serious and sincere ways and not just out of political expediency or momentarily.”

“Islamic Shariah cannot prevail in Aceh as expected if it is not supported fully by the government and other parties in authority,” he said.

The government must also watch out for youths participating in Valentine’s Day activities in Aceh, he said.
