493796Good thing indonesia doesn't apply islamic law or SHE would be the one being punished and the man would go free.
Most probably the reported cases are just the tip of the iceberg. The rapes are probably escalating because these low-life's are getting away with it.
Again and again - the police are the real culprits.
JG & other media should try to avoid announcing stuff like "The victim was able to tell her parents what had happened and an arrest was made within 24 hours" ... being raped is one thing, tortured & killed afterwards is another. When announcing "arrested" this should be coupled with the news of the most severe punishment (not jail) e.g. penectomy, castration, sex change, sth of that sort should be widely announced.
sad really sad. No doubt she will be blamed for being a young women,
Incompetence Indonesian police, they can't even solve Angkot rapist for months, it's now at least 2-3 rapes/month!! So how should we trust them to protect us from the terrorists and suicide bombers?! Hopeless.
Another teenager has been raped aboard a public transportation vehicle, this time a 15-year-old girl from Bogor on the outskirts of Jakarta.
Bogor Police spokesman Comr. Imron Ermawan said on Thursday that the girl was attacked at 8 p.m. on Tuesday as she was riding home aboard an angkot.
He said when the girl first climbed aboard the minivan there were seven other passengers.
“On the way, the passengers left one by one, and finally the victim was alone with the driver,” Imron was quoted by Liputan6 as saying. “At that time, the victim was sitting in the back. Knowing the victim was alone, the driver asked the victim to move to sit in the front.”
The officer said the driver began touching the victim inappropriately and threatened her.
Imron said the victim was to afraid to fight back and she was raped in the back of the vehicle.
After the attack, the girl was dropped off at the side of the road, he said.
The victim was able to tell her parents what had happened and an arrest was made within 24 hours, Imron said.
