Nab a 14-year old with some pot, throw him in jail for 12 years max. Order a judge to be killed, get 15 years and run free after 4. Burn an Achmadi Mosque, kill a few members on the spot and run free.

Why we never hear of any of these plenty of local dealers being arrested? When I was in Kuta last time I couldn't walk for 100 meters before being approached by the these guys... over and over and over again... quite discusting and disturbing...

Indonesian police have detained a 14-year-old Australian for drug possession on the resort island of Bali, an Australian official said on Thursday.

“An Australian teenager from New South Wales was detained in Bali, Indonesia, after he was found with a small quantity of drugs. He has not been charged,” an Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade spokesman in Canberra said.

The teenager was arrested on Tuesday afternoon with 6.9 grams of marijuana as he returned to his hotel from a massage in the Kuta tourist area, Indonesian police sources told AFP.

Australian media reported that the boy told police that the dealer said he had not eaten for a day and needed money.

He paid 250,000 rupiah ($25) for the drugs, reports said.

“The Australian Consulate-General in Bali is providing him and his family with consular assistance,” the DFAT spokesman said.

Under Indonesia’s strict narcotics law, the boy could face up to 12 years in prison.

Children face the same courts as adults in Indonesia and are often imprisoned with adults although there is a separate children’s cell in Bali’s Kerobokan jail.

Several Australians have been arrested for drug possession on Bali island in recent years.

An Australian man was arrested last month in possession of methamphetamine.

Several convicted Australian drug traffickers are also being held in Kerobokan, two on death row and six serving life sentences.
