A 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck the Nusa Dua area of Bali at 9 p.m. on Friday, according to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency.

According to the agency, known as BMKG, the epicenter was located 67 kilometers southeast of Nusa Dua, with a depth of 70 kilometers.

“The people here panicked and scrambled out,” said Sandy Pramuji, a Jakarta Globe editor who was in a hotel in Nusa Dua when the quake struck.

The area is currently hosting the international women’s tennis Tournament of Champions.

BMKG said the quake had no tsunami potential, and there were no preliminary reports of injuries or major property damage.
