Vice President Boediono said on Wednesday that genetic testing had been carried out to ascertain that a man killed in yesterday’s terror raids was highly-sought Bali bombing suspect Dulmatin.
“I’ve got a complete report,” said Boediono. “What I would like to say at this moment is that of the three bodies that have been through DNA testing, one of them is confirmed to be the corpse of Dulmatin.”
President Yudhoyono had already announced Dulmatin’s death in Australia,
The Vice President did not release the identities of the other two bodies. He thanked police for the successful raid.
“I would like to express government appreciation to the National Police and all the institutions that have supported the operation, including the public,” he said. “I hope that the operation will be continued until it is completely finished.”
The National Police have said the targets of yesterday’s raid in Tangerang were supplying money and arms to an alleged terror camp in Aceh. A substantial police force is still hunting down members of the camp in the remote hills of Aceh Besar.
