492612Well! I believe the Indonesians should go back to their ancestral religion which is HINDUISM. I am also an atheist like Buddha. Buddha was a strict rationalist.
So, am I also entitled for Blasphemy?
Many Indian and Pakistani Muslims have left their faith.
The reason behind this is the self-questioning of the Unknown.

So... the Jakarta Globe is an atheist organization?
I'm so glad the government knows which religions are real and which are not.
They have made a list and all you have to do is choose one, it's easy realy.
Why would anyone be unhappy with such a wonderful system?
I registered with this paper, which seems to be a serious journal of record in which opinions and evidence can be discussed rationally, specifically to comment on this story.
Let's have some facts.
1. The religion a human mammal believes is almost always that of its parents.
2. Outgroup hostility frequently extends to religious beliefs and results in violence instead of debate.
3. Those who choose to limit free expression are agents of totalitarianism and acting immorally since they are causing real suffering (as opposed to having beliefs challenged and changed which is just called education) to people like this poor chap.
4. When you enshrine in your laws that religion has specials right over secularism you give away some of your human rights.
5. Atheism is not a belief, it is just the absence of a belief that any gods exist. In the same way that baldness is not a hair colour and off is not a TV channel.
6. I am happy to write an article for this paper if you like, to explain more.
Blightyboy, if they did that then Indonesian would be just about non populated.
An Indonesian atheist who questioned the existence of God on his Facebook page has officially been arrested and is facing the prospect of five years in jail.
The National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas-Ham) immediately condemned the move as repressive, saying it was a violation of freedom of expression.
Dharmasraya Police Chief Sr. Comr. Chairul Aziz told the Jakarta Globe on Friday that Alexander, 31, a civil servant in West Sumatra, had been charged with blasphemy and officially detained.
The charges carry a maximum sentence of five years in jail.
Chairul, speaking a day earlier, said Alexander had only been taken into custody for his own protection and that police were seeking advice from the West Sumatra Coordinating Agency to Supervise Religion and Beliefs (Bakorpakem) as well as the Ministry of Religious Affairs before deciding on further action.
Alexander, who works at the Dharmasraya Development Planning Board (Bappeda), was attacked on Wednesday outside his workplace by a group of unknown people after writing “God does not exist” on “Ateis Minang” (“Minang Atheists”), a Facebook account he moderates.
The page has been removed.
