411000Also, "In October, two women were caned in Aceh for selling food during the fasting hours of Ramadan." - what the hell is going on there? What's the point of fasting if you can't even control yourself in a very regular situation? Damn, this is so fake and retarded.
The good people of Aceh voted for this sort of nonsense, so much for democracy
So the girl Kiki was only 15 when she married (got married I assume!)
What a sad thing is happening that people to this to others. Who are they to assume to be morally better equipped than the ones "caught" in "immoral acts".
Also sad to read that hundreds of spectators gathered to see these young people getting caned - meaning they are agreeing to this kind of punishment! Really quite a drop backwards a few hundred years when people got burned as witches or got thier heads chopped off! Very sad indeed that humans never seem to learn but rather endorsing it - until it might be one day themselves!
What a showing up you morons are. Beating up two young people in public for doing no more than kissing each other.
Forgive me for for thinking that Aceh was part of Indonesia , Oh i forget you have special dispensation from Jakarta to act like the mongrels that you are. Disgusting and shameful . Hello to Sharia law in Indonesia
How many people in Aceh are caned for theft, telling lies, taking bribes, over charging, treating the poor with disrespect, not observing traffic laws, not paying taxes and so on? Since when does morality consist largely of matters concerned with sex? Sex 'sins' are soft sins - if you want to call them that. Its the 'hard' sins you need to worry about - actions that demean and keep people in servitude.
Some Indonesians have sex on the brain. The crowd watching this barbaric action was largely comprised of jealous and hypocritical self righteous people, who, incidently, were getting some kind of subliminal sexual satisfaction watching as pain was inflicted on this couple.
This is what happens when Islam is interpreted divorced from Reason, human rights and simple common sense.
Indonesia. Two people were caned in Indonesia’s staunchly Muslim Aceh province on Friday after being caught having an extramarital kiss, a prosecutor said.
Hundreds of people gathered to watch as Anis Saputra, 24, and Kiki Hanafilia, 17, received eight lashes each at a mosque in the city of Jantho, southeast of the provincial capital Banda Aceh.
“Both were married to other people. The people caught them kissing each other in Aceh Besar district’s forest in October. They were yet to have sexual intercourse when they were caught,” prosecutor Deby Rinaldi said.
“Anis’s wife, who was seven-month pregnant, was away at the time. The woman, Kiki, was already married for two years,” he said.
Aceh, on the northern tip of Sumatra island, is one of several areas in Muslim-majority Indonesia where Islamic Shariah laws have been adopted.
