Trenggalek, East Java. The Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) has reported that the drought in East Java has spread to all 29 districts in the province.

“We don’t think that residents in the municipality are being affected by the dry spells because they are served by the tap water company PDAM, yet there must be villages or subdistricts in the 29 districts that are facing critical water supplies,” BPBD official Sudaisman said on Sunday.

But he could not name the villages or subdistricts that were being affected by the water crisis.

“The provincial government officials have had a meeting with representatives of the 29 districts, some of which said they had been facing a water crisis,” he said.

The drought affecting the province has lasted for two months, and it has also affected parts of Central Java, West Java and Banten.
