One of them men detained in terror raids outside Jakarta earlier this week had served as a police officer until early 2009, authorities said on Friday.
Sofyan, alias Abu Haikal, was allegedly working as a body guard for highly-wanted Bali bombing fugitive Dulmatin when he was arrested by Densus 88 in the raids on Tuesday.
“Sofyan was a former officer with the Depok Police but he stopped coming to the office in early February 2009,” said Depok Police Chief Sr. Comsr. Saidal Mursalin on Friday. According to a police source, Sofyan was an acquaintance of Ibrohim, a suspect in the bombing attack at Jakarta’s JW Marriot Hotel in July 2009.
Dulmatin was killed in Tuesday’s raid. He was buried in Pemalang, Central Java on Friday morning.
Police are also investigating the e-mail account Dulmatin was using when he was gunned down in an internet cafe.
“Dulmatin was communicating with his colleagues by e-mail because he felt safer maintaining contact via the internet,” said a source with the police on Friday. “The computer has been taken to the National Police Headquarters. They are going through his emails.”

I believe it's a bad deed of some persons which doesn't represent the whole society. The same case in Indonesia. Torturing animal is a sin .
