A family from the Mampang area in South Jakarta has come forward to claim that the body of a young woman found in front of High Scope School in Cilandak is Rosminawati, aged 25. According to the family, she had been missing since September this year.
“My sister has been missing since the fasting month (September). We had looked all over for her. Yesterday we heard there was a body found and we came here,” Ria told detik.com.
The murder victim was identified by Ria, her younger sister, and their father, Jaman. They arrived at Fatmawati Hospital on Monday evening. Unfortunately, Ria and her father could not identify the corpse because it was damaged.
“The body had no front teeth, just like my sister, but it had already swollen so badly it was very hard for me to recognize it,” she said. Ria said her sister had a beauty mark under her lips and on her neck but they were not visible because the corpse was decaying.
However, morgue staff came and showed the family a ring, a bracelet and a wrist watch found on the body. Ria recognized the ring instantly.
“Yes, this is the ring that Ros usually wore,” she said to her father, who broke down and cried.
On Tuesday, police conducted a DNA test to try and match the body with the family. The result will be known within a few days.
