Strawberry Fields Forever? Another song worthy of the Fransoa treatment: Tembakau Sawah Selamanya.

Always a pleasure B. Loncat. Where would we be without your unflappable ability to use Google. Keep pickin' them strawberries.

@SirAKB: Ca Plane Pour Moi itself was a cover of Jet Boy Jet Girl by Elton Motello. The lyrics of that song were too risque for mainstream airplay, so Elton Motello's Belgian drummer Roger Jouret got together with producer Lou Deprijck and they re-recorded the song (vocals falsely credited solely to Jouret under the name Plastic Bertrand) with new lyrics in French and called it Ca Plane Pour Moi. The Damned's guitarist Bryan James had previously been a guitarist for Elton Motello's singer Alan Ward, hence the subsequent cover. Cukup jelas?

Back to Fransoa - the money he is using to pay for his bensin is 1000000jts Bank Orang Kaya, while the side text looks like: 'Departemen orang mau kaya'!

Jakarta. A Frenchman residing In Indonesia is running the risk of having a hit single on his hands after a song he released attracted positive reviews on Youtube.

Released on Sept. 20, “Kalau Saya Kaya” (“If I Were Rich”) by Fransoa has already attracted more than 29,000 views.

Fransoa, a businessman who has lived in Indonesia for years with his wife, Carolina Renou, and their two children, says on his Web site that he had fallen in love with Indonesia and wanted to express it through music.

“I like to sing karaoke with my wife and my friends and one night in Jakarta, we decided to write songs in Indonesian,” Fransoa said.

The music is inspired by a French singer, “Cloclo” Claude Francois, who was famous in the 60s, he said.

The lyrics in the first single, “Kalau Saya Kaya,” simply say what he would do if he were rich.

The humorous video clip features the singer singing and dancing in glitzy costumes.

“The video clip will top the charts if it is successful,” Fransoa said.

“This video makes me smile. But in Indonesia, even if you’re rich, you’ll always have a headache!” a viewer named ogha83 wrote.

The single is one of the songs on Fransoa’s upcoming album, which will be available from his Web site, www.fransoa.asia, next year.
