As I watched, his lips were quivering, and I had that strange feeling the AGO wanted so very much to tell members of commission III directly or indirectly.....please, you pots shouln'd call us kettles black.

Setting up the team of '8' was a wise move the President made.

Where is the proof? Where are the tangible facts to support the claim against KPK? So many versions of the story going around, but without any reliable tangible proofs; all these would be just non-sense and a big waste of taxpayers’ money...

This man should have been sacked long ago.

Case brokers to be rid off? Aha! Does that mean that all along the AG knew of their existence?

He mentioned that "jaksas" receive only 3 Juta a month in wages. However, he failed to mentioned the perks that go with it.

Just look very carefully at each one of them sitting in the panel. Do they look like "gooks" earning 3 juta per month? Now, he's asking for 10 trillion for his planned budget and if 10 is not posssible 5 trillion would do. Hey! Does he think we are all fools not to see the variance?

The way I see it, the AGO and his colleagues can confidently face commission III without fear. We all know why....don't we? It's a lame duck situation and a complete waste of time.

Indonesians are becoming more politically savvy each day, and I fear the day will certainly come when true "people power" will rise up but I honestly hope that day will never emerge.

Attorney General Hendarman Supandji told House of Representatives Commission III that fugitive businessman and corruption suspect Anggoro Widjojo gave Rp 3.75 billion ($375,000) to Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) officers when the KPK was raiding the office of PT Masaro Radiokom.

Hendarman delivered his version of events during a hearing with the House commission on Monday.

According to Hendarman, Anggoro, who was in Singapore, called his brother Anggodo Widjojo to find somebody to solve his problem with the KPK. Anggodo was friends with Ari Muladi, who had contacts in the KPK. Ari Muladi contacted Ade Raharja.

Ade asked for Rp 3.75 billion to close Anggoro’s case, and Ari then reported the request to Anggodo.

“Rp 1.5 billion was for Bibit, Rp 1 billion was for Jasin, Rp 1 billion was for Bambang (a KPK investigator) and Rp 250 million for the media,” Hendarman said.

After Ari distributed the money, the KPK issued restraining letter for Anggoro, Hendarman said.

“Anggodo was looking for someone who could contact Antasari Azhar (who was the KPK chairman). They found Edi Sumarsono, who knew Antasari. Antasari and Edi went to Singapore afterwards to meet Anggoro,” he said.

After the Singapore meeting, Anggodo, Antasari and Edi went to Malang to meet Ari. Ari told them the money had been distributed, including an additional Rp 1 billion for Chandra M Hamzah.

However, Ari recently denied distributing the money to KPK officials and said he gave the money to a person named Yulianto who later became the missing link in the case.
