Jakarta. President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and First Lady Ani Yudhoyono celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary in a low-key fashion praying with close relatives and staff at the Presidential Palace.
“The only celebration was praying this morning,” the head of presidential press and media bureau DJ Nachrowi told news portal Detik.com.
On Friday evening, Yudhoyono and family will host a traditional Javanese dinner, serving tumpeng, a traditional cone-shaped yellow rice dish which symbolizes gratitude and joy.
Yudhoyono married Kristiani Herawati or Ani on July 30, 1976. Ani is the daughter of the late Liet. Gen. (Ret.) Sarwo Edhie Wibowo, a respected military official in his era.
The couple have two sons Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono and Edhie Baskoro. Agus and his wife, Anissa Larasati Pohan have one daughter, Almira Tunggadewi.
