Twenty-one Indonesian sailors missing in the aftermath of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami disaster have been found alive, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Ministry spokesman Michael Tene said the sailors, all working on the Japanese vessel Kayomaru, survived Friday’s disaster.

Another four remain fishermen working aboard a tuna vessel in badly affected Miyagi prefecture, however, remain missing, he said.

An Indonesian Embassy team working in Miyagi has found and relocated 121 Indonesians from the province. Some 94 are due to return to Jakarta on this evening.
