Part of the southern stretch of Jalan Prof. Dr. Satrio in South Jakarta will be closed for a month starting next Wednesday as workers install piles for the elevated road being built over the area.
Riza Hasim, the deputy head of the Jakarta Transportation Office, said on Thursday that the affected stretch of road ran in front of the Sudanese ambassador’s residence across from the Malaysian Embassy and would remain closed until March 15.
Motorists traveling from Jalan H.R. Rasuna Said to Jalan Satrio will have to enter from Jalan Denpasar Selatan, Jalan Besakih or Jalan Gilimanuk and cut through the Mega Kuningan area.
Riza said his office was putting up signs in the area to notify motorists about the work.
