A lawyer for teenage celebrity model Manohara Odelia Pinot is threatening to have her estranged royal Malaysian husband arrested if he follows through on a possible visit to Jakarta next week.

“If he comes to Jakarta, thank God, because we don’t have to go to Malaysia to arrest him,” said attorney Farhat Abbas on Friday. “Our report on him to the police is very long.”

Manohara’s husband, Kelantan Prince Tengku Temenggong Muhammad Fakhry, said through his lawyer that he plans to come to Indonesia to file a defamation suit against her.

“She said she didn’t want to come to Malaysia because she’s afraid of her safety and whatever verdict the Malaysian Court delivers can’t be applied in Indonesia, so we are coming to Indonesia to pursue the case,” said Mohammad Haaziq, the lawyer for the prince.

Haaziq was speaking shortly after a Malaysian court on Thursday awarded the prince 6 million ringgit ($1.8 million) in a defamation suit against Manohara.

The Kuala Lumpur High Court awarded the sum to the prince, but he is not likely to receive any payment unless he initiates legal proceedings in Indonesia against his wife.

Manohara has so far refused to return or recognize court rulings made against her in Malaysia. Indonesian law cannot compel Manohara to abide by Malaysian court verdicts.

The prince claimed defamation after Manohara told reporters last year that he had held her captive and abused her.

“It’s Fakhry who should pay the $1.8 million to Manohara for the damage he caused her,” Farhat added.

Manohara married the prince at age 16 and left him less than two years later with dramatic claims of abuse. He has responded by suing her for defamation and for money he says she and her mother owe him.

Despite the legal battles, the lawyer for the prince claimed on Thursday that his client still loves Manohara.
