Anyone dumb enough to marry Manohara shouldn't be allowed a gun.

Police in Malaysia have questioned the estranged husband of Indonesian teen model and actress Manohara Odelia Pinot and 10 others, including his royal bodyguards, in connection with the shooting of a guard at the Kelantan state palace.

Malaysian state-owned news agency Bernama reported a police spokesman as saying firearms belonging to Prince Tengku Temenggong Mohammad Fakhry’s bodyguards had been seized as part of an investigation into the shooting, which left the guard seriously injured.

The Malay Mail described the shooting of the guard, identified as Ramli Mohamed, as attempted murder. The newspaper also reported that the police believed the attack was part of a conspiracy to assassinate Kelantan Regent Tengku Muhammad Faris Ismail Petra, who is the crown prince and Fakhry’s brother.

“Police believe that the 50-year-old palace guard was shot as he knew of the alleged assassination plot,” the report said.

The Kelantan royal family has recently been embroiled in a crisis over who will succeed Sultan Tuanku Ismail Petra, who has been ill ever since experiencing heart problems last year.

The sultan was reportedly admitted to a Malaysian hospital on Wednesday night on the advice of Faris Petra, who is currently acting regent.

Fakhry held a news conference on Thursday to say he had planned to fly his ailing father to Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore, but the plane he had chartered had been refused permission to land at Sultan Ismail Petra Airport in Kelantan on Wednesday.

The Malaysian Department of Civil Aviation declined to comment on why the private jet was not allowed to land.

It is understood another attempt was made later in the day but the sultan, the queen and Fakhry were stopped by security forces on their way to the airport.

Fakhry himself has been accused by Manohara of abuse and kidnapping. Married to the prince at age 16 in 2008, Manohara fled the royal household during a trip to Singapore last year.
