Yogyakarta. Mount Merapi evacuees at Maguwoharjo stadium shelter in Sleman, Yogyakarta have not been making amorous moves toward two conjugal shacks provided by volunteers, saying they had not been informed of the facility.

“We had no idea there were 'love shacks' for married couples,” an evacuee from Gaungan hamlet, Cangkringan, told state news agency Antara.

“We have stayed in the shelter for two weeks and yes, we have been having trouble appeasing our biological needs as men and women,” he said.

The volunteers at Maguwoharjo shelter provided two large boudoirs for couples who wish to get intimate.

The 8 x 9 square meter rooms located on the second floor of the stadium are equipped with mattresses, pillows and en-suite bathrooms.

“Any couple who wish to avail of the rooms must report to us and we will take them to the rooms and give them the keys,” she said.

“We understand the evacuees have stayed here for weeks so a little intimacy time can help them relieve stress,” she said.
