How about letting the police go to nightclubs if they wish, as is their right, then punish them if they do step out of line? Actually that makes too much sense, disregard.

Banjarmasin. Afraid of tainting the reputation of the police, South Kalimantan police have forbidden members from visiting nightclubs without assignment letters from their superiors.

The head of South Kalimantan Police Internal Affairs Division Adj. Comr. Slamet Setiono Sik said that going to nightclubs is dangerous for police because they might cause problems being drunk and could taint the image of the police.

“We will strictly punish all members of the South Kalimantan police caught visiting nightclubs without assignment letters,” Slamet said.

Sanctions that could be applied range from warnings to being discharged.

The internal affairs division of the South Kalimantan Police plans to raid nightclubs to ensure the policy is upheld.

“If police members are there without assignment letters, sanction them,” Slamet said. “With more raids, there will be no more police daring to go to nightclubs. I want people to report if there are still naughty police.”
